Character Education

The Character and Citizenship programme serves to help students attain 21st Century Competencies and mould them into individuals who are passionate about excelling in all that they do. It also serves to nurture citizens who are informed and actively engaged in community issues. Grounded in integrity and sound values, our students will develop the ability to make decisions with discernment as they navigate the increasingly complex technological and global landscape of today. With the Civics Tutor as their character coach, the programme centres around nurturing our students to be reflective and have clear personal goals. They will learn to develop strength of mind to help them overcome setbacks and be equipped with social, emotional and life skills to achieve their goals. As young adults, students will also learn how to acquire strong interpersonal skills in order to establish meaningful relationships with others, and also strong intrapersonal skills to reflect and find one’s moral centre.

Experiential programme approaches such as personal narratives sharing, perspective-taking discussions, learning journeys, as well as dialogues with office holders will be adopted in order to help students think critically and embark on an authentic and personally meaningful Character and Citizenry growth journey. Adopting a whole school approach, Character Education will be a cornerstone across all college programmes. This seeks to create a positive moral culture in school that supports and amplifies the values imparted within and beyond the college.
